Ridges and ravines across the interior of Gran Canaria seen from the air

Two guides, written from routed times and the rental conditions.

What the Gran Canaria car hire guides are for.

There are two guides: one on driving in Gran Canaria, and one with four road-trip routes. Both give routed drive times and the rental conditions that apply.

Drive times in both were routed with the fastest car route on OpenStreetMap data. Traffic rules come from Spain's Reglamento General de Circulacion and the DGT, and rental rules from the rental conditions.

The driving guide.

The driving guide covers the GC-1, routed times to the interior, speed and alcohol limits, fines for non-resident drivers, parking and fuel, and what standard cover excludes. From the airport, Roque Nublo is 50.9 km and 66 minutes away, and Puerto de Mogan 54.8 km and 45 minutes.

Standard cover excludes the wheels, undercarriage, windscreen and interior, and hire cars may only be driven on paved public roads.

The road-trip guide.

The road-trip guide has four routes: the south coast to Puerto de Mogan, Tejeda and Roque Nublo, Teror and Agaete, and Teror past Roque Nublo to Maspalomas. Each leg is routed.

Parking around Roque Nublo is prohibited; drivers park in Tejeda or at Cruz de los Llanos and take the Global shuttle. Puerto de Mogan to Agaete routes at 107.8 km and 93 minutes.

Before booking, and before driving.

Mileage allowances, gearboxes and card requirements are set per car and shown on each listing before you book.

The road-trip guide lists the drive time for each leg of each day.

Times in both guides are free-flow routing times, not measured traffic.

What the guides do not state.

Prices, deposits, mileage limits and cancellation terms are set per car and change. They are shown live in the search and in a selection of cars with live prices, not in the guides.
