What should you check when choosing a car?
The airport fleet runs from four-seat cars to nine-seat vans, and each listing shows its seat count, gearbox and mileage allowance. Hire cars may only be driven on paved public roads, and standard cover excludes the wheels, undercarriage, windscreen and interior. Cars marked as requiring a credit card need a physical embossed credit card in the main driver's name, and the cars without that requirement are listed under hiring without a credit card.
Automatics are in the fleet at the airport, where every car is handed over in arrivals. In every window measured, every one of the cars delivered to the resorts has been manual, and the search shows the gearbox on each car.
Seven and nine seat vehicles are listed under van hire in Gran Canaria. Seat counts on each listing come from the supplier.
